Values

1. We claim Jesus as our common ground and the source of our unity.
.
2. We believe we are beloved in our being not in our doing. We value authenticity above accomplishment.
.
3. We are a community of friendship and accompaniment and are committed to a culture of walking beside one another, listening deeply, and sharing wisdom along the way.
.
4. We take responsibility for our own spiritual health. We are attentive first to our own needs and formation as we encourage one another to develop healthy practices.
.
5. We are open to where the Holy Spirit will take us, individually & collectively.
.
All are welcome. You belong to Clergy Women of Charlotte by your own choice & identification with this group and its mission; we are not looking for certain credentials but women who understand themselves to be called to serve Christ in their contexts.

Norms

These guide our communication & interactions, either online or in person.
.

Safe Space: We treat one another with respect, dignity, delight, & curiosity about who God has created each of us to be.

We will ask, not assume: Whether it is about someone’s experience within the church, their feelings, their willingness to engage in some activity, etc..

Names over titles: We are known & will be addressed by first name, without titles: This is not to undervalue anyone but rather to value all..

What is shared, stays; What is learned, leaves:  As we come to know one another, we will hold in confidence the personal details of each other’s stories while allowing these relationships & collective experiences to shape our ministry.
.
Intent may not always equal impact: We will speak up if someone’s actions or words cause us harm, & we will humbly listen if others are hurt by ours.
.
Strong emotions welcome: We are passionate people, in need of places for full expression.
 .
Who else?:  We will continue to ask ourselves, “whose voice haven’t we heard?” & “who is not yet in the room?” Our purposes are deepened by the intentional incorporation of all who identify with our mission & our willingness to recognize & address unintended barriers to inclusion.
